HERE SHE IS —-
At last! I finally got her back, and all trimmed out. We still like getting the felts on,new tires and painting the rims, but I can drive her and Josh and I are taking her out tonight for the first time. The picture doesn’t really do the color justice, to get a true idea, think about a candy apple at the state fair, she’s just that color. After due consideration I think I’ll call her Reba, you know red, hot, and definitely recognizable? Tony asked me if I’d let him drive her, said that even he might get a date driving her! So I told him that I didn’t know about the date thing, but since he has so much time and work in her I didn’t see why he shouldn’t have a turn at the wheel, IF he was nice. Below if a pic of me and Josh with Reba, I don’t know if you can tell, but my hair is not gray, sort of brownish red now, need to touch up the color, and we had been working in the shop so it does look better when it’s not so wind blown! I guess I’ll have to be careful about what color I choose don’t want to clash with my car, HA!
Think I ’ll have lots of fun driving her and the first place my friend and I are going for lunch is Peggy’s Sue’s, a little 50’s diner down in Denison, TX. Reba is a little younger than the cars that really go with that vintage, but what the heck, she’s still a classic and the food is good! My friend, Barb, said we had to find a parade to drive in, I don’t know about that, but I am going to pick up Josh from school one day. He gets such a kick out of knowing that soon he ‘ll have one of his own, but it’ll be black and chromey! A real chick magnet, thank goodness the back seat in these things is really small, and they have buckets in the front.
